What is the focus of Family Support Services?
The main focus of Family Support Services (FSS) is on recreational and respite programs for people who have developmental disabilities and live at home in Westchester County with their families. Other programs include counseling, advocacy, family training and early intervention for children over 3.
What is the role of the Consumer Council?
The Council’s mission is to provide a strong consumer and family voice as partner a with the local Developmental Disability Services Office (DDSO) in the planning, developing and monitoring of Family Support Services in Westchester County.
What programs do we fund in the community?
The Westchester County FSS Consumer Council works with 40+ agencies and has over 100 programs that are funded with Family Support Services dollars. These programs include:

- In-Home and Out-of-Home Respite
- Family Training
- Recreation
- Creative Arts
- Dance
- Social Clubs
- Support Groups
- Therapy
- Counseling
