ABA Program 4 – Program Development and Implementation
Purpose To provide free, intensive and high-quality instruction to parents, teachers and therapists on how to develop and implement programs for children on the autism spectrum utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. The training will contain a model curriculum advising participants “what to teach” and “how to teach it.”
Population Available to parents, teachers and therapists who previously have attended NTS CARES’ Family Training or Teacher and Therapist Training programs. Ten to fifteen parents and / or professionals will participate in each training.
Services The program consists of a two-day comprehensive, hands-on workshop totaling 14 contact hours. The focus of the workshop will be on assessing a child’s current level of functioning, identifying appropriate intervention goals, and learning specific programs, teaching protocols and implementation techniques to achieve those goals. Specifically, participants will learn how to develop and implement programs within five different domain areas, Language, Academic, Motor, Social and Daily Living, and learn how to advance skills within each domain. This program is provided at no cost to the participants.
Schedule Weekday workshops will be held four times per year from 9am to 5pm. Dates for 2009 are March 26-27; May 14-15; July 30-31; October 29-30.
