FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES
What is the focus of Family Support Services? Family Support Services (FSS) are currently funded by the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD). The Hudson Valley Developmental Disabilities Services Office (DDSO) oversees and monitors these programs. The DDSO office in Tarrytown serves Westchester County. The main focus of Family Support Services (FSS) is on recreational and respite programs for people who have developmental disabilities and live at home with their families. Other types of programs funded are listed below. Most programs serve all ages. What is the role of the Family Support Services Consumer Council (FSSCC)? The FSSCC consists of family members who have a child with a developmental disability. The Council’s mission is to provide a strong consumer and family voice as partner with the local Developmental Disability Services Office (DDSO) in the planning, developing and monitoring of Family Support Services in Westchester County. What programs does Family Support fund in the community? The Westchester County FSS Consumer Council works with 40+ agencies and has over 100 programs that are funded with Family Support Services dollars. These programs include:

- In-Home and Out-of-Home Respite
- Family Training
- Recreation for all Ages

- Social Clubs
