BASEBALL
It is important that our children with autism be given the same childhood opportunities as their typically developing peers. Parents who envisioned their child’s little league days should not have to defer those dreams. Children on the spectrum can benefit both socially and emotionally from being part of a team. For the most successful and enjoyable experiences, parents should choose a program that focuses on skill development, ability adaptations, opportunities to learn from typically developing peers, and, above all, a non-competitive, good natured, “everyone plays” environment.
